What is gl-helden?
gl-helden is not a classic kindergarten management system. It is a caregiver portal — a tool that supports caregivers in their daily work: kindergartens, after-school care, schools. Management functions (groups, children overview, simple communication) are built in, without the system becoming heavyweight operator software.
What’s there today?
- Live at gl-helden.de with open sign-up.
- Login-based caregiver portal, Django + Bootstrap 5.
- PWA — installable on smartphone home screen.
- Free — this is not about making money, it’s about giving smaller organizations a slim alternative to expensive kita software.
What’s next?
- Flutter app (iOS + Android, native) — actively in development. Goal: caregivers don’t need a mobile browser session on a field trip or in the group room.
- Release: planned for Q2/2026 after a closed testing phase.
What it intentionally will not become
- Not an invoicing platform for operators.
- Not a payroll system.
- No ads, no premium features.
Why show this here?
Because gl-helden is really deployed, really live, really in active development — including mobile app. Not a mockup. It shows that I build end-to-end (Django backend, PWA, Flutter app, Hetzner deployment) and that I take projects through to release, not just prototype.
